What's In It?

This course is taught in Russian, by Mark Thomson, the creator and instructor behind Russian Accelerator. It's a beginner course designed for Russians with little or no knowledge of English. The course is perfect for those who may have studied some English in the past, but whose speaking is also very limited. By the end of the course, the student will have mastered the grammar and vocabulary to speak confidently on a number of everyday themes.

The core vocabulary centers on the most common topics of conversation: Friends, family, work, school, food, hobbies, shopping, travel, holidays, emotions, getting around town, and so on. The end result for those who complete the course will be the ability to communicate effectively with native speakers on the above mentioned topics.

How Does It Work?

The course is all online, and is taught with a combination of text, audio, and video.

Just like in Russian Accelerator, new words are taught first, focusing on pronunciation and getting meaning from context. The Test New Words section ensures that meaning of every word has been learned, before the student moves on to the grammar section.

In each Grammar Video, the students learn how to work with the vocabulary they've just learned. Grammar is taught via pattern recognition, which is the most natural way to learn how words work, and all of this is followed up with listening exercises for further learning in true R.A.M. fashion.

In all, over 800 words and phrases are taught. Word choice is based on the principle of Core Vocabulary. In short: It's better to master a small vocabulary comprised of the most common and powerful words and phrases, than to struggle with a vocabulary that's too large and never mastered. The end result will be a student that is able to effectively communicate at a lower-intermediate level.

What Exactly Do I Get?

The course is located online only. No CDs or DVDs will be delivered. Some audio material, however, is available for download. The student will be purchasing lifetime access to the members area, which -- as with Russian Accelerator -- will be a growing collection of supplemental videos and articles. There are nine Units total in the English Mastery Method Vol.1. Due to the density of material, a new Unit will open every ten days. (When learning a language, you can't rush retention.
